Born in 1970, son of a Czech émigré to Britain, Petr Weigl creates art that transforms environments. Surpassing conventional boundaries, he fashions materials into forms, colours and textures that are inspired by nature and the human psyche, and which provoke the senses and the imagination. Each piece fits perfectly into the unique setting for which it is designed, and from where it stretches beyond its confines to generate depth or fluidity, light or dislocation, questions and invitations. Petr’s work has been commissioned for public art and installations by clients including the Duke of Westminster and the Royal Institute of British Architects. It also adorns the walls of leading international private banks and hotels. Petr is based in London and his work is exhibited and collected around the world.
