Rupert Dixon

Rupert Dixon: Graduate of Cheltenham School of Art, BA (Hons) 1993. Inspired by the architecture and internal spaces of palaces, villas, opera houses, and other grand buildings. Internationally collected, his abstract geometric paintings executed in mixed media on canvas develop the interior theme which continue to inform his work. Referring to ever-popular abstract artistic movements from the mid-20th century, such as expressionism, minimalism and geometric abstraction, the result is a synthesis which combines a classical sense of proportion with a contemporary taste for simplicity.
