Professional Photographer

London-based Irish photographer, Richard Haughton has a wide-ranging and wonderfully eclectic portfolio of work that varies from music to dance, performance to fashion, advertising to landscape, and travel to food. His work has been exhibited in a diverse variety of locations, including Ireland, England, Japan, Spain, Italy, and Russia.

Richard’s fascination with photography was ignited at the age of 6, and he started his professional career in the industry at just 14 years of age, before briefly studying photography in London. He then went on to work as a freelance photographer, shooting internationally for record companies, magazines, and theatres.

Having built up a stellar reputation across the various industries he shoots for – Richard continues to be a trailblazer in the photography world, with the majority of his clients hiring him again and again. In addition to working with Paul McCartney for more than 20 years, his star-studded client list includes Luciano Pavarotti, Daniel Barenboim, David Bowie, New Order, Plaçido Domingo, Iggy Pop, Erasure, and Duran Duran, to name a few.

Richard began his long association with Lindsay Kemp while still at school and has continued working with exceptional dance and theatre companies ever since, such as the Bolshoi and Stanislavsky Ballets, the English National Ballet, Michael Clark, Akram Khan, and James Thiérrée.

An ever-growing passion for food and wine led to his active involvement in the gastronomy universe, alongside Frédy Girardet, Joel Robuchon, and Paul Bocuse. This subsequently resulted in the release of his first book, ‘Anton’, which won the ‘Best Chef’s Book in the World Award’ in 2009. Since then, he has produced 16 books with three Michelin starred chefs and many other books with chefs all over the world.
