Any creative professional working in interior design and architecture knows that whatever you choose to include in a project should be elegant, cohesive and, above all else, suited to the lifestyle of the people living or working in that space. Katherine Maginnis works closely with interior designers to source and integrate contemporary art that is not only stunning in its own right, but also complements its intended environment and is something the client will enjoy living with for years to come.
Following a successful and ongoing collaboration with luxury interior design brand Minotti London, Katherine Maginnis has teamed up with renowned British interior designer Daniel Hopwood to source and curate contemporary art for his diverse portfolio of residential projects. As former president of the British Institute of Interior Design, founder of London-based interior design practice Studio Hopwood and presenter of BBC Two’s The Great Interior Design Challenge, Daniel is a respected designer who is celebrated for his vibrant, eclectic style and ability to cater to a broad spectrum of tastes.
Studio Hopwood recently completed the interior design of a young, cosmopolitan couple’s new high-rise apartment in Aldgate. Boasting 360 degree views of London, and occupying an entire floor of the building, this incredible property now features generous, sociable living spaces, as well as unique rooms tailored to each person’s interests. Daniel asked Katherine to source and curate a unique selection of artwork for the project. This includes various paintings by Mark Surridge, Shirin Houston and Clare Wilson.
Having received positive feedback regarding this project, Katherine is looking forward to working with Daniel and his future clients. For more information regarding Katherine Maginnis’ art consultancy services contact kate@katherinemaginnis.com.
