In collaboration with the luxury Italian furniture brand, Minotti London, Katherine Maginnis is set to present at the annual BIID CPD Providers Showcase 2019 at the Chesterfield Hotel Mayfair. Following the success of Katherine’s first presentation last Summer; Katherine Maginnis returns with her BIID-Accredited CPD on ‘Good Art Practice for Interiors’ on Thursday 21st March, alongside five other Certified CPD Presenters selected by the BIID Committee for 6 hours of structured learning.
Designed to share her expertise, experience and invaluable industry insight as a contemporary art consultant and reputed specialist within her sector, Katherine will be presenting a 45-minute in-depth seminar about the importance of art curation in interior design to a host of fellow industry professionals.
Katherine’s CPD will cover the most important aspects of the art specification, commissioning and procurement process, as well as how it can be used to add essential value to interior design projects across all industry sectors. Offering an exclusive opportunity to learn how to develop good art practice when planning interiors, and discover more about the art procurements and inclusion process in the context of residential, hospitality and commercial projects.
The presentation aims to:
•Provide guidance to interior designers about how to use art more effectively and integrate it as an important part of the interior design process.
•Encourage designers to consider including artists in the design process, for the right project, to create unique site-specific commissions.
•Inform designers of the multitude of mediums available to clients and illustrates the breadth of artists’ conceptual abilities to create functional artwork, including room separators.
