April’s Salone del Mobile is the most influential week in the interior design calendar, not least because it sees the launch of luxury Italian furniture brand Minotti’s annual collection. As Minotti London prepares to expand its Fitzrovia showroom to more than double its existing size, Katherine Maginnis has been retained to curate a bespoke art collection for the new space. With this is mind, we journeyed to Milan with artist Petr Weigl and the Minotti London team to preview the style direction of the Minotti 2016 Collection.
Coordinated by architect and creative director Rodolfo Dordoni, highlights from the new collection include the elegant versatility of the Freeman seating system and the enveloping tailoring of the Creed bed. Taking inspiration from this dynamic offering of furniture, fabrics and accessories, Katherine has begun developing concepts and cohesive creative narratives with selected artists who have been chosen to create original artworks to be exhibited alongside the new furniture designs at the exclusive launch of the Minotti 2016 Collection later this Summer.
